We believe swimming goes far beyond fitness, it builds confidence, community, and lifelong friendships. Our mission is to make that experience accessible to adult swimmers.

Swim Melbourne Masters — Adult Athletes 18+

Founded in 2019, Swim Melbourne “Mahi” Masters has grown into a thriving U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS) Gold Club on Florida’s Space Coast.

In 2025, USMS named us Club of the Year, a national honor that reflects the energy of our swimmers, coaches, and volunteers. We welcome adult swimmers of all levels, from beginners to elite athletes, and we love hosting visiting USMS swimmers and snowbirds. Many of our members have rekindled their passion for the sport through our supportive, fun community.

Our swimmers have earned plenty of hardware, including multiple national titles and records at the LMSC, Zone, National, and World levels. In 2022 our women set a world record in the 800 SCM freestyle relay, then lowered it again in 2023 and 2024. The squad also broke the Women’s 400 SCM freestyle relay masters age-group world record in late 2024.

Where do you fit in?

Guppy Group - Ideal for beginners focusing on stroke fundamentals
Guppy Group

Novice to Intermediate

Guppy Group Ideal for beginners focusing on stroke fundamentals and the former "swammer" just getting back to the pool after a long break. This is not a learn how to swim session. Swimmers need the ability to swim 25 yards continuously, one length of the pool. Guppy sessions are very small in size and focus mainly on freestyle with optional stroke work, using a beginner-friendly approach to enhance swim technique. Participants can expect to swim approximately 800 – 1,800 yards (based on ability) during a one-hour coached guppy session.

Mahi Group - Designed for intermediate to advanced swimmers who can confidently swim 400 yards freestyle without breaks.

Intermediate to advanced

Mahi Group Designed for intermediate to advanced swimmers who can confidently swim 400 yards freestyle without breaks. Sessions include a mix of freestyle and other strokes, kicking, drills, and challenging intervals. Expect to cover 2,500–3,000 yards in a one-hour session and 4000+ yards in a 1.5-hour coached morning session. This is the training group for swimmers that want to challenge themselves and take their swimming to the next level.

Combined Group - In these sessions, we integrate the Guppy and Mahi groups, assign swimmers to lanes based on their swim ability

Novice to advanced

Combined Group In these sessions, we integrate the Guppy and Mahi groups, assign swimmers to lanes based on their swim ability, and adjust distances and intervals as needed. This setup is ideal for Guppy swimmers who are thinking about advancing to the Mahi group, allowing them to train alongside peers of similar abilities.
