Head Coach B.J. Graham is a U.S. Masters Swimming Level 3 Coach, recognized as the 2022 Florida LMSC Coach of the Year and a recipient of the 2022 USMS Kerry O’Brien Coaching Award. In 2023, he served on the USMS National Coaches Committee, contributing his experience and insight at the national level.
Born and raised right here in Brevard County, B.J. began his competitive swimming journey with Brevard Swim Association under Coach Terry Schlichenmaier. He later became a varsity swimmer at Indian River State College and a varsity scholarship swimmer at the University of Florida, where he trained under legendary coaches Gregg Troy and Anthony Nesty. His athletic achievements include a national title in the 100-yard butterfly at the 1996 NJCAA Championships, three-time NJCAA All-American honors, USA Swimming Senior Nationals appearances, and multiple overall wins in sprint and Olympic distance triathlon. He’s a USAT All-American, an IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship competitor, and the 2019 Swim Around Key West (12.5 miles) Masters 40+ winner.
In 2024, he launched the Grown-Up Swimming Space Coast League, part of a national organization that brings fun, summer-league-style meets to adults of all backgrounds and abilities.
Known for his dedication, versatility, and love for the sport, Coach B.J. is always evolving, both as a coach and lifelong student of swimming. He believes every season should have a purpose, with thoughtful, sustainable training that meets swimmers where they are, whether they're chasing fitness, fun, or a spot on the podium.
